Kunio\u00a0also held his own private practice, Hamada &amp; Matsumoto, which later merged with Mori Sogo in 2002 to form Mori Hamada &amp; Matsumoto and was well-known for its activities in the European capital markets.<\/p>\n<p>Additional notable positions held\/honors received:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: 'Georgia',serif; color: #333333;\">2001: Associate Justice of the Supreme Court (resigned in 2006)<br \/>\n2007: Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun<br \/>\n2011: Special Council of Hibiya Park Law Offices<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hamada graduated with a law degree from the University of Tokyo in 1960 and was registered in 1962 as an attorney-at-law.
